Valuations and appraisals are not just about knowing the value of your jewellery, but understanding its history. We have a professional valuer who is a member of the Jewellery Valuers Association and The Institute of Registered Valuers who comes in once per month to provide our clients with a full valuation service for insurance, probate, family division and other reasons. You will be given a booklet with all of the details of your items as seen to the right, including a picture so that any lost items can be replicated exactly.
This costs £80 for the first item and £50 for each item after. For probate there is less detail and no pictures, so he charges a lower price of £65 for the first item and £40 for each item after. We charge a flat rate not a percentage commission.
All items are kept in our safe on site and are not sent away.
The valuer comes in before we open, and is usually finished by 12:00 on the valuation date, at which point you are free to collect your items. We will give you a call as soon as they are ready. He takes all of the measurements that he needs then goes home to write up the paperwork which usually comes in 1-2 weeks after the valuation date. We will also give you a call when the paperwork is ready to collect.
The Next Valuation Dates:
Wednesday 29th May, bring your items in by Tuesday 28th May
Wednesday 10th July, bring your items in by Tuesday 9th July
There will be no valuation in June as the valuer will be on holiday.
