Our equipment is made for the melting point of gold, silver and platinum. If we use it on any other metal which is not gold, silver or platinum it will melt.

Silver plated items are usually base metal underneath so have the same problem with the equipment. We do not do silver plating.

When gold plated items are heated they turn black. When we polish this blackness off we also polish off the gold plating, leaving it patchy. We do not have the equipment to re-plate with gold, we only do rhodium plating. Therefore we do not repair gold plated items.
